How would you deal with getting only two Steam wishlists after two years of work?
I recently came across a reddit post detailing that exact circumstance. I take a look at “Llama the Farm Drama”, review their Steam page, and what I think the dev can do to revive their solo game dev dream.
Game development is difficult from the very beginning and solo game dev is even more unforgiving. How to market and distribute your game is important. In a marketplace where your indie game is competing with AAA titles with million dollar marketing budgets…you have to find a way to set your game apart and convince gamers to take a chance with their time and their wallet. This is no easy task, especially for solo indie gamedevs.
Learn how to approach the pinnacle of the game dev process mentally to prepare yourself for disappointment and emerge from any scenario feeling accomplished and proud of achieving what many cannot, releasing your own video game.
If you would like me to look at or review your game or steam page, let me know in the comments, send me a message on Youtube, or reach out to me on the StayAtHomeDev Discord server.
Go check out Llama the Farm Drama on Steam. They were gracious enough to let me share their story and game.
